News and Information

Mr Cahalin & Mr Hodge are taking a walk on the Wild Side!

They are walking the 71-miles of the Ribble Way in just 4 days!

This is the River Ribble from its source in the Yorkshire Dales (at the Gavel Gap) to its mouth at Longton, Preston.

They will begin this journey on Thursday 21st July 2016

(the day after school finishes for the summer holidays).

KS2 SPORTS DAY CANCELLATION

Dear Parents & Carers,

Mr Hodge and I have carried out an inspection of the school field this morning. It is very wet and not suitable for running events, with the forecast of further showers today & tomorrow and heavy rain tonight, we have decided with a heavy heart to cancel this year's KS2 sports day for children and parents.

However, to minimise disappointment we will do an indoor sports event for the children tomorrow.  The CSSP team will come along and organise some indoor competitions.  The children in KS2 can still come to school in sportswear, wearing an item of clothing in the colour of their house.  Unfortunately due to the constraints of space, we will not be able to invite parents. Our apologies and fingers crossed that July brings some warmer, drier weather!

Kind regards,

Mr Smyth
Headteacher

GOOD NEWS - WE HAVE A DEFIBRILLATOR!

We are pleased to say that the school - thanks to a private donation from a friend of the school - are the proud owners of a defibrillator.  It is situated in the main entrance of the school.  Hopefully we will never need to use it but should the need arise - we are covered!

SEPTEMBER 2016 ADMISSIONS

The closing date for admissions was 15th January 2016.  Thank you to all the parents & carers who have applied for a place at our school for their child.  Letters will be sent to parents with an offer of a school place on Saturday 16th April from Lancashire County Council.
